Keith, you're perfectly right about needing something off the top. In mitigation, I plead that it would have ended up removing most of the blue in the sky. That's VERY hard to accept--we see so little of it so I tend to treasure what there is!

I must say I am fascinated by this winter light and the colours it makes. You caught it perfectly, this is a AAA+ rating for me :-)) Superia 800 looks very elegant here, more like Superia 400.

Looks like a very tranquil place.
I like Keith's suggestion of cropping the top, may be to the top of the "tree line" on the right.

Hi Roger,
This one is nice, maybe needs a little cropping off the top to lose some of the blandness of the skay, and also to move the horizon up to the 1/3 line.
The perspective is excellent though.

It would be pretty tricky replacing the sky on this one, Roger, with all those bits showing through the trees! Very nice composition with the distant figure giving some sense of scale. Best regards, Chris

I like this one best. If only I could sell you some of Death Valley's sunny skies! JB
