I love the way the trees arch over the lane to the station. Because the shadows are so deep, colour doesn't look too good. B&W is fine, although the range of contrast is very wide.
Hi Roger, what a fantastic range of tone you have here. The conversion has really been undertaken very well. I'm impressed, did you use PS greyscale or the PS Channel Mixer ?
Studying this for a few minutes, I get a slight feeling of slant to the right, but then I think its just the area of light in the distance, which is not horizontal. Not much you can do about that.
I do agree with David about the bland pathway though. In your head imagine what this would be like with a rustic track....
Roger,I wondered at first if this was an IR shot, but obviously it's not. It certainly has some of the 'look' of one. You were right to choose B&W for this . It is an attractive scene and I think your image conveys the way you feel about it (a great thing in photography). The only thing that detracts from the magi, and its no fault of yours, is the fence and the tarmacadammed lane. Best wishes. David. Ps.I had a friend named Roger Williams, for many years until we somehow lost touch.
