About To complement the rather dark and gloomy panorama from the famous Nezu Shrine Azalea Festibal (previous photo) here is one up among the azaleas themselves. The narrow paths and crowds of people moving in both directions made panorama taking more difficult than usual, and stitching the shots with so much movement across their seams was really difficult. So I am submitting this for a Critiquers' Corner review to see if people think it was worth the effort. The vertical field of view is 120 degrees and the horizontal FOV is 260.

I am sorry you lost your azaleas. They need acid soil, and plenty of water to remain healthy. You would love Nezu. One nice thing about Japanese crowds is that they are very good natured and patient, no pushing and shoving. But when it is so crowded it is very difficult to take panoramas!

What a shot and what a feast!!!!
I have bought two small pots of azalea, for my house, they cost me about 100 US dollar, and it is the first time that azalea reaches my city, they have both died about three weeks later, the weather and the water do not suit them,
I wish I was there at this heaven on earth.
Saad.

Thank you, Nanda. I see you are not a donor to Usefilm, which means you cannot see the full-size version of this panorama (about 3,600 x 1,200 pixels). The original is actually quite sharp, but Usefilm reduces it in size and this produces the softening you see. At least, that's MY excuse (grin). If you would like to see the original, I could send it to you... Even this is softer than the original because of JPEG artifacts, but it would give you a better idea of image quality.

The picture lacks sharpness, lack of uniformity in connection panorama composition is well done, and that is why I said "Very good shot"

Nanda
