About This has some problems...sharpness, composition, over saturation...and as Mark Walz pointed out, it is staged - that is, I arranged the leaves on the tub. I was trying to get a golden ration pattern...then I gave up!

Never-the-less, I kind of liked it, and need some color in my portfolio, lol.

I really like this image. If you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have noticed the staging (so I'll pretend I didn't read that part).

you have a good idea for composition, and the dramatic flair you use in your images makes you images very nice to look at.

Thank you Gayle! "Resounding harmony"!! Yep, a lot of the tub was cropped out because it didn't appear necessary.

Yes, it was overexposed...and I should have used a tripod to get a sharper image.

I put this image up then decided to take another look at it and took it down before anyone commented on it....only Mark had already commented on it.

I just mentioned it in the "about" to acknowledge his comment. I'm in agreement with him; it would have been better if nature had cooperated a little more! To avoid any confusion, here's his full comment!

"Beautiful colors. Nice contrast of the yellow, the blue, and the red. Also, nice sense of texture captured in the image. A very rustic feel to it, also.
My only disappointment, is the sense that the image is a bit too staged. If the leaves fell that way naturally, then I am wrong, and my apologies.
Well done.
Mark "

Thanks Mark!
Thanks Gayle!

lol, it's getting confusing! My normal state of mind!! Can't be avoided!

hi, round objects in a comp suggest harmony and tho' you don't see the complete circle here,it still has a resounding harmony to me ;>
i like the autumnal palette and the simplicity of the comp....there does seem to be some loss of detail of the yellow leaves, but i'm guessing you tried to fix some overexposure?....anyway,i think it was worth posting and i don't see a comment from the mark you mention in the about?
regards,gayle

aaahhhh....staged - schmaged.....the only time 'staged' bothers me is when you get the obvious staged video clip during an episode of funniest home videos!

Love the yellow against the blue hue of the tub...lots of textures....LOOKS GREAT!!

It does look like they fell on the old tub or bucket. The lighting was very nice. Don.

Well I think you did a good job of arranging them to look natural. Nice color and I like the barrel for textures. The only thing you might have done is add a few red leaves from down below just to kind of punch it up. Nice one Kes.
