King of Cool, huh? LOL- Well, I like it, King it is! :)
You're right about the black and white conversion. That's exactly what I was thinking might happen with all of the simular tones. I think your idea on the hue and light levels is GENIUS! ;)

Thanks Sheila and you're quite right about the distracting purple. I did, in fact attempt a B&W conversion but this image does not strike me as well suited to it. In hindsight . . . I now think that a simple change in hue and light levels for the purple only might have been the way to go. I responded earlier to another comment with a B&W attachment . . . you can take a look at it if you wish and see what you think . . . but it seemed to me to be a poor B&W image due to the tonal range limitations and BG distractions. Thanks so much for the honest commenting - you know I love the truth (admittedly more so when I'm being called a genius) even when it's what's wrong with a picture.
Humbly yours, Doyle I <~~~~~ King of Cool

Thanks again Michele and you're always easy to understand . . . for example this comment was an obvious attempt to refer to me as the King of Cool. Thank you (humbly). ;)

Hey Laura! My wife would know in a heartbeat whether this was the largest breed or not but I can tell you that this is a HUGE dog! But gentle . . . :)

Thanks Shirley and a good point about the purple . . . the image does not lend itself well to B&W conversion (see attached) and it only just now occurs to me to replace the color or simply change the hue and / or light on the purple. I noticed the thumbnail was much more distracting than the actual image though! The man's shoulders in the left BG and the dog (brown without the purple cover) left me with a poor BG to begin with . . . the the purple dog covering (It's a cooler believe it or not) actually helped because it would be even worse without it . . . though a less distracting earthtone might have been better. Anyway - good eye and I appreciate you pointing it out . . . I have something to look at and try to improve it with . . . not to mention something more to watch for in the future!

Excellent capture of the little drop hanging from his tongue! Too funny. This guy is so rough around the edges that he's cute!
Did you try converting this shot to black and white? The purple cover on the dog in the background is a tad distracting, but I'm not sure how this particular dog would convert, or if you would get the same effect of the drop hanging from his tongue if you did. Purple thing or not, it's a GREAT shot!

This beauty looks either and or hot and excited ! I probably said this wrong... but you probably know what I mean ! Ha ! I am sure the dog is warm because of the hot weather. Nice shot doyle. I love to view these wonderful animals.

Very good capture of this large beast! lol The DOF is wonderful, he and that drop of spit just pop out from the background. Isn't the wolfhound the largest breed?

The purple drape in the background bothered me at first, then I noticed that it is balanced by the purple in her sleeve...not so bad. The dog is wonderful. I am partial to the larger breeds, myself.

Thanks Viking Chick! :) A good point about the size of this behemoth! Marlyce likes these things too! They are both gentle and shy . . . in spite of their size; and in this particular case the shot of the entire dog wasn't available since they were under a grooming canopy and there were a lot of people about. The biggo head popped through so I took the shot. Still . . . probably should have gotten some on the way to -- or inside the rings . . . oh well . . . next time!! :)

An Irish wolfdog tall as a mountain and gentle and shy:-) My neighbour always wanted one, but instead she and her husband got a small Danish breed. Cute photo although I do belive I would have shown this dog in its full size because many people are not aware of its size, and standing together with what appears to be an elderly lady - well that would awesome, I belive:-) Best wishes to the California Kid;-) Annemette

Another winner in my book. Try taking a bad or boring picture of a dog just to see if you could do it. Keep them coming; I enjoy every one of them! --Jan
