About Again trying to follow Jim Murray's lead, I zoomed in on these teapots (as I don't have a zoom lens I actually cropped the image). Note the different type of handle on Japanese teapots.

yes, a jigsaw puzzle - sell the photo to kodak or whoever does puzzles. i'll buy one! we do really hard puzzles at christmas, with all the family around. i would LOVE to work on this one - it would be really difficult, all those gorgeous colors and lines. whew!!

Ah, you mean a jigsaw puzzle? Hmmm. It would very very difficult without the photo, though, wouldn't it? This is one of those tiny shops that cluster around the Asakusa Temple.

Alice in Wonderland? Why, the connection is the mad hatmakers's tea party, isn't it, Mary? Of these, I'd take the multicoloured one upper right... The ticket said, "Take any one, all the same price, all (the equivalent of) under US$10." Tempting...

Very bright and colourful. Somehow, it made me think of Alice in Wonderland. I don't know why. I love the randomness and variety of colours. I'd take the blue on just left below center.

Thanks again for thinking of me, Roger.
Wow, what can I say? This is my favorite piece of yours. I like the dominating warmth of the red complimented with a touch of cool blue and green.
Well, in the words of our friend Rashed Abdulla, "all of the best, my friend"!

Sorry to interfere, dear Ellen, what "other site" are you talking about with Roger? I would also like to see what you are showing there. Would you let me know, if it is not a secret?!
Thank you in advance,
Gabriela

A great collection of colours and shapes, and even textures. Love it!!! I would have cut the upper part though!

Very nice "found" pattern. Love the riot of colors and jumble of shapes. Ingenious, those hollow handles!

Email me about the "other" site, please.

I would have been glad to help you get around it took me just a short time to find my way. At least I'll know where to find you. Take care.

I did check out the other site but found it confusing and very commercial. I am told that I am wrong about the latter, and that familiarity would do away with the former, but somehow it just didn't appeal... Anyway, I have my panorama function with the promise of more to come so I am one reasonably happy camper!

This is the first comment I've had in a long time, I have been keeping a low profile here though. I don't have the time to devote to two sites so I just drop in here once a week. When I do post here I get about 5 comments the same shot on the other site might get 40 comments and 100-200 views. What can I say I like the attention. hehehe Have you checked out the other site?

Hi, Ellen. Not that I know of. The two pottery traditions grew up quite independently of each other, and I guess different solutions were adopted along the way. The Japanese one works very well for pouring from the side but not pouring away from or towards yourself. By the way, are you noticing far fewer comments these days?

Good shot Roger. Is there a reason the handles are different?
