Mixed opinion, I would have cropped him. His figure is unsharp probably by the de-fisheying (what a word). Nice lens Rog.

Paul, if you're saying I've got a rather journalistic style I'd have to agree with you. I like to "take it like it is" and show the oddities of this amazing country--usually endearing, sometimes frustrating, and even occasionally annoying!

Roger, I think you could put a book together which shows the everyday life in japan.. all your images seem to capture that very well.. this one is no different and provides the viewer with a glimpse into life there...

Roger thank you for another view of Japan. I looked at your crop idea and I agree with you as far as leaving it in, because it does make the lady in the hat the first thing that my eye goes too, and that's probably because of the white blouse, which is nicely contrasted with all the other colors.. I can't speak to the fisheye lens but it looks like you did good....:) :)
Thank you so much too Roger for your very kind comments on my images...I appreciate you...:)Linda
ps I'm looking forward to the wide angle lens too....:)

Roger, you are of corse correct, by lopping off the poor stall holder's head you move the central action to the right. The girl in the hat would then be way too close to the edge that the viewers eye would be wandering round trying to find something else to rest on.
Well done.

A very enjoyable shot, Roger! Lots to look at and very nice colours and tones. Best regards, Chris P.S. Just back from our Pentecost service, which went very well. I'm now looking forward to a nice bit of raost beef and Yorkshire pudding ~ which I have to say, I prefer to octopus!!

Thank you Antonella. I am originally from England. I was born and brought up in Bristol, in the southwest, near where Chris Spracklin lives. Defishing fisheye images is simply a matter of running the image through a PhotoShop filter. There's very little skill involved, although I do take care to choose the best angular field-of-view of the final image.

I think it looks great the way it is, Roger dear, in my opinion it's the atmosphere that counts which you depicted greatly. Wow, now you're going wider and wider :) A deshished-fisheye !!!! You're brave!!! Hugs,
Antonella
p.s. I've always forgot to ask you where are you from originally....
