Very dramatic interpretation, Aram of the red leaves resembling a riddled body. I quite like that. There is always a certain drama associated with red and black, and this is a most imaginative reading, one that I didn't even think of myself, although I've looked at my pictures long enough. Many thanks, and sorry for the delayed reply, I always appreciate reading your comments!

Beautiful "pattern-work": when the hole is part of the whole! When the subject is what is absent! Beautiy of the paradox!... And the color that recalls a riddled body... Tragic and dramatic too. Thanks for sharing.

I was looking and looking and I believe the beautiful red colour realizes the whole impact. I wonder if the leaves were green or brown, would they look as beautiful, as attractive (?)
I am thinking of you, dear Friend!

Like the others, I love it. There just isn't enough that I can say about the power of red. The 'swiss-cheese' holes add wonderful impact.

Nicely done!!

Thank you for your comment Michel! I took these pictures on October 29, when the weather was still fairly warm, I don't know what produced the holes, but here you can see a more "advanced" stage:

Hi Gustavo, I have no idea what insect does this, but I photographed two bushes, they were all like this, one with red leaves and one with green and brown leaves. Thanks for visiting, have a nice weekend!

Thanks Neal, these are part of birthday photo-present I made for Gabriela, so there is the Japanese connection, plus the saturated reds reminded me of lacquerware. Have a great week-end! Ina

All three of today's photos are wonderful and the comparison with laquerware is right on the money. Very insightful of you.
