About Went to my first usefilm meeting, met some wonderful folks and had a great time. We chatted, had lunch then headed out to Great Falls, VA for some picture taking. The sun wasn?t very cooperative but the heavy rain we had had the previous day had turned the river into a torrent. After we played around awhile and realized we had our work cut out for us in getting a slow shutter speed to give the water some wispy effects we went to work. Here is one I particularly like and hope you all do to.

Shutter Speed 4 sec.
Aperture F/64
Focal Length 400 mm.
2X Extender
ND-9 Filter

That is awesome! The light seems warm IMO. The details are good. That water must have been flowing rapdily. Good job!

Thanks Tom, I had to boost the exposure on this by about a 1/2 stop and I did boost the saturation a bit, but not alot. I find on cloudy days this tends to help a little. Other than that its pretty straight forward.

IO had a great time also and can't wait for the next one. We ought to get a schedule up and make this a regular event. Now whats regular is debatable every other month?

Going to check on the Eagle right now. If he's there you have an open invitation to come down and get some shots. I have a little row boat that can get us out where we could get some different angles.

Have a great day,

Jim

jim, this came out great! did you give it a color boost or is this as-is? mine came out a bit darker and gloomier so i'll have to work on them. btw, i really like this angle. you nailed that log in just the right place. it gets lost in the rocks on my shots. anyhow, had a great time yesterday meeting you and steve. hope we can do it again.

take care,
tom
