Two excellent photos next to each other, dear Mary. One almost the negative of the other.
Thank you for your kind comments on my "Figure in colors 2" and "light from within 2."
Best regards,
Rafi

I would have to agree with a few others about the color version (liking it better). I love the clouds moving in the sky near the sunset.

Great color and composition. Cheers,

Josh

Craig, thank you for the kind comment. It is encouraging as I am new to this.
Yes, my camera is a Kodak digital. That's what I used for all my pictures. So far, I am pleased with it. I have been fortunate enough to get some okay pictuers.

Did you really take these sunset shots with a digital camera? They have a film look to them. They are all beautiful, but this is one of my favorite.

Of the 2, this is my favorite. I love the soft warmth of the colors in this - it really warms you up. The movement of the clouds is great too.
Thanks for your comment elsewhere.

I would have to flip a coin to chose between the b&w and this original. The way you captured the sunset is spectacular.

you found perfect light, i like it when the sun peaks through like this, i see a twinkle in the eye of the sky.......
one thing you might try, is move closer to that large tree on the left making for a larger silhouette, it looks to have a great shape to it.....
well done......

It would never have crossed my mind to change a sunset to B&W. However, it was suggested on a comment to my Molten Light picture, so gave it a try and liked it. Who'd have thought? I am seeing a lot in UF that is unique. So, hopefully I'll learn and improve. It's only been 3 months, and I am a patient person.

this is beautiful. I like the sky sweeping and fanning out overhead. I looked at both versions and like this better. You never know about a picture 'till you see it both ways. I'm often surprised when I convert one.

Merci pour vos commentaires. Je préfère celle en NB, même si celle-ci est plus glamour, plus accrocheuse. Merci aussi d'écrire en français, mais sentez vous à l'aise de le faire en anglais.

One another nice photo Mary. Here the color cast is really ok, but I'll try with decentralizing of the main subject, Sun, on left or right hand side. Also try to use silhouettes more stressed, because the silhouettes are one of the most strong means of photographic expression.
