About	I've been trying out a Russian Helios lens, and I must say I'm very pleased with it. The look is a bit "dated" (reminds me of the '50s, which I am old enough to remember). What do you think? By the way, the shallow depth of field seems to have worked quite well. I like the fluffy trees in the distance against the sharply etched branches of the nearer trees.

A small (polite ) suggestion to complete the attractive soft/sharp vintage look. I imported into photoshop, converted from greyscale to RGB, then using hue/saturation with the colorize button checked added a slight sepia tone. I find greyscale itself rather cold, and when printed looks fore like a newpaper photo than a silver bromide print.

Roger I see what you mean, this IS a beautiful shot, it has that elusive soft/sharp look which is very attractive. I will send an e-mail with a suggestion.(polite of course )

Well I have to say I find this very good indeed. The composition is spot on, nothing to change here, and the tones are excellent too. I think the lens is a good addition to your collection.
