Hi Roger, interesting comparison. The feel is completely different, and I think you made the right choice in composing this vertically / portrait format. This shot is cleaner in composition, but also hass a little less tension in it. The tree, crossing the frame in the other one is, I think a vital element, which also maks me prefer that version.
Thanks for the info on the Voightlander, very intersting. Learned something...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Very nice place, well caught ! I Think these are the best lab scans I've ever seen and Fuji 800 is still a wonder for me.

Excellent picture Roger. At first, I thought it's just another picture of the pond, but then I found out that it's an amazing picture of the mill pond. The clarity is incredible, despite the high ISO in the film you use, and color rendition is amazing! Beautiful picture! Very beautiful!

What wonderful reflections, and love the splash of red, from I presume a Japanese Maple. Margaret

Roger, Great composition, the wooden pathway leads the viewers eye up to the mill. The colors are great, the warm toned hillside contrasting nicely with the blues and greens in the water, and then one realizes how great the reflections are. Excellent Work, Reguards, Ray W.
