Very intriguing image - almost looks like neon lights. Love the contrast of the subtle striped leaves.

Hi, David..i was loathe to crop because i'm so in love with those dark jewel colors and shading transitions..i couldn't bear it!
I'm still getting used to the F100. It has more electronic gizmos than a technology museum. i'm sure i'll learn all the cryptic symbols and the complex choreography of buttons and dials one uses to perform even simple functions like reroll the film or set the aperture. If you have the kind of mind that can use a Casio watch for more than just tell time (i don't), you'll probably love the F100. It's also a total battery hog (you have to learn to use the off-switch between shots) and not too reliable about letting you know when you're getting low. Instead, it gets cranky and sends error messages and refuses to drop the mirror or release the shutter. My first reaction when this happened in the field was abject terror but then i thought..hmm..maybe the batteries are low and bingo, she was purring again..Or else it will show a full power level one shot and the next you're empty. BUT, it's a very substantial camera, feels great in the hand, has a wonderful AF system and i'm getting very attached to it. (Now, if i could just remember how many times i have to push buttons A and B just to open the camera back :)))..thanks..kat~

Beautiful - it helps to have the dark, nearly colorless things around... You are making me put slide film on my photo to-do list.

kathleen...
what a beautiful shot. i just love the textures and the color. i think i'd crop just a tad off the top and the right. just me. have you tried shooting velvia? great slide film with lots of punch. should be cool for the great colors down in CR. F100 sure is a geat camera. been thinking of trading one of my cameras in for one. just thinking about it.

Hi Kat; unusual and colorful natural abstract. I like it. Thanks for comments on my moody seascape, and yep-- it was oversharpened after conversion to 72 dpi. Cheers. Craig

thanks, Kevin! i started shooting with film very recently and i'm trying out every kind of film i can get my hands on here. It's a whole new world for me. This whole roll of slide film scanned beautifully and responded to the slightest PS tweaks like magic. Maybe it was beginners' luck??? Thanks again..kat~
