Dear Kristina,
you are right, this picture would be more focused if presented as a more upright format. I definitely want too much with this composition. Thanks for your precious comment and I will keep that in mind with future subjects. cheers, thilo

Hugo, you rock the house! great idea to split the picture into separate parts - there is obviously too much going on here. As the maker of this picture I didn't have the courage to crop anything apart. You did this for me, and I really appreciate that =)
VERY creative vision. will keep that in mind with future projects. thanks a lot, Hugo. Needless to say, you are very inspiring. take care, Thilo

As much as I like the shiney footsteps...I think what give this shot legs is the slightly tilted horizon. Whether intended or not...it works! Nice job, ...Brad

I don't like the left side so much since the person is so dark to the very white ground, and it feels distracting.
But the right side of the photo is amazing and I really love it! Everything from the footstep to the marvelous details in the "liquid silver" and the people walking! Fantastic depth feeling too.
How about a crop on left and have it as a vertical photo?

Needless to say, the three images go strongly together, and would not have the desired effect as a stand alone. It's an experiment, and I'm realy curious what you think....

Hi Thilo, I've been pondering over this shot for a time now. It's intriguing for sure... There are two things, that do make me a bgit "hesitant" about this shot. The slight tilt in the image, emphasised, ofcourse, by the slope in the dunes on the right, is a bit distracting. I also find the subjects in this image are a bit cluttered throuhgout the composition. The footstep on the right, the silhouet of the person in front, the *beautiful and very impressive* silverish reflection in the current patterns in the wet sand and the strolling people. IMO, it's all a bit too much, and there's no real point for the viewer to focus on.
On the other hand, I do like the backlighting, the pose of the person in front and the amaising silver reflection and patterns in the sand. Maybe the solution is to split this image up into a number of other photos.... I'll show you what I mean.. I corrected the tilt I perceive, and split the image up in three. Quite extreme, though, and not necessarily the best selections, but it gives an impression to show you what I mean.
Cheers,
Hugo

I like the general feeling of the picture. Nice sky and great reflections at the foreground (including the precise footprint). Thumbs up!
btw: If the sky would be in a different color and you could see two moons at the sky I would judge it for an alien planet. ;)
