About Back to my more familiar subjects... This mosque was completely deserted and I had to hurry, because the sun was setting rapidly. The colours were amazing, and the scerene atmosphere was only broken by our footsteps on the marble. As always, all comments are appreciated, and I know, I know, a bit too much noise...

Cheers,

Hugo

Sorry to comment an old photo.. but this one is amazing.
I spent some minutes to figure out it was a reflection!! Great work here...
Congratulations from Brazil,

The most amazing thing in this photo is that the reflections are very clear and sharp and this image would easily pass for a regular shot, were it not for all the stuff floating on the water. The latter is, in my eyes, a beautful decoration that adds to the image.
The colours are warm and really awesome, the lighting just great. If you had cropped a tiny bit on the left up to the top of the palm leaves, I would have found the composition perfect. A minor detail, really. Don't mind me, Hugo, I can be awfully picky at times.
As for the noise, I agree with you and many other opinions so, no need to go into further details.
Nevertheless, a beautiful image very pleasing to look at and good shot.
Hugs - Emgy

Yes,the colors are stunning,Hugo, and so is the composition, so particular and charming.
Unfortunately the 800 ISO speed delivers some noise, but that's beyond the point,I think.
When you travel it's not likely that you place your tripod so,overall I think it's fantastic!
Many congrats, Antonella

Good morning Hugo,
Sometimes we create something to show what we want the others see, and sometimes we do that to show just the beauty! As i look at this picture if your intention has been the second one (to show the beauty), then you?ve succeed. But from the point of showing the mosque, it doesn?t. Because without your explanation, it look likes other things than it appears.
I must add Shiraz is one of my favorite cities in Iran.
Regards,
Farideh

Hi,Hugo
I think I`ve seen this one before, the clarity of the reflection is so great if those "floating stuff" is not there it is hard to till this is a water reflection, The noise is not a problem ones is not interfering with the quality of the image, what I like more the part of colourful construction(mosque),very interesting subject, Saeed

Hi Hugo, i wasn't sure what to make of this at first because i couldn't see anything of a mosque in the thumbnail and didn't realise that it was a reflection. I think your description is a little misleading. Now to the photo..... I think it's a great idea and the "noise" doesn't worry me. I think the light is probably a little strong for your 800er film but then i know that you usually use it for other "Motiven". Sorry that my Dandruff has now spread to your computer :) Looking forward to seeing the others in your Tryptich. Thanks for all your comments, critique, jokes etc. I enjoy hearing from you, Best wishes.... your friend Neil

Hi Hugo,

Well...I have spent more than my share of time on this wonderful photograph. Spectacular color and lighting was perfect. PErfect for bringing out the golds in the date palms! Wonderful!

At first glance I thought you had photographed this through a (very dirty) windshield. Would have had to be very large birds. LOL
Then I saw the title, don't know why sometimes I don't see the title until after I view the photograph! That of course cleared the whole thing up!
Someone cropped this below, I don't like it that way. Then way below someone worked with the noise and did a different border, I do like that, and sharpned. (not sure how they got rid of the noise)
Sorry, I'm rambling again. BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPH!
Lori :)

Hi Hugo, nice reflection... when I first look at the picture, i thought it's snow or your scanner having some problem :>

Nice color and composition !

Cheers ! Bobby

Hi Hugo,

What a wonderful picture. I don't mind the noise, unles it is because you scanner that is at it's 100%. I would think that's way you ment it to be (or came to be by it self). I love the colors and the composition is great. The blues on the sky are just amazing!!!

Congrats,

Be seeing you...

Raamses.

Dear Hugo,

You have a strong ingenious comeback here somewhat resembling an underwater terrarium with a descent luminating effect, but ... (and there are always a few aren't there?), ... the rework attached included:

Left margin cropped, 30% noise cleanup, one level sharpening for clarity of fronds, +15 contrast, smaller (clouds?) dusted out, presentation border changed obviously which I believe is more complimentary, and per the caption below the rework I changed the second 's' to a 'z' in the title if that is all okay with you!

Best of Regards!

P.S. '7' for originality and a penality of a '4' for all the work I did, so you get a '5.5' overall which I couldn't rate as such so I had to settle for the lower.

wow! mana from heaven! pun most definitely intended ;^) not sure if i spelled it correctly but, like Dan, i couldn't figure out what i was seeing at first. the water is so calm and the image so clear and unbroken that it appeared to be "stuff" falling from the sky.

what else can i say? beautiful colors, great composition, very well executed wonderful idea. hmm, makes me wonder what II and III look like...

take care,
tom

Oops... forgot the attachment... I did not play very much yet with this program (just used an automatic noise profile here, generated from a part of the sky). NeatImage is not a cure-all but in this case I think the result looks pretty good.

Hermen, would you please post the Neat image file? I've been experimenting with it, but I'll need some more time to get to know it... And in stead of buying a new scanner I decided to go digital more...

Cheers,

Hugo

The colours are great! Hope your scanner can still be reanimated again :)
Something about the noise: I tried some post processing on your photo (NeatImage + unsharp mask), what do you think? (Don't pay attention to the crop, that's only because I needed to reduce the image to the allowed attachment size, without reducing the resolution).

regards,
Hermen

At first I didnt realize this was a reflection ,I was wondering what is all the stuff floating around in the air or something must be all over the print before you scanned it. But after reading that it was in the reflection project I now understand It's a reflection. This changes everything. It is a very clear reflection without ripples or desturbance, very deceptive. There is a bit of noise as you have said, but the colors are so rich and beautiful.very excellent shot Hugo.Gave it a 6 only because of the noise ,(I hate Noise in my pictures).I would have cleaned up with the median tool in PS.Only suggestion.
