About It amused me to see a rendering of Mona Lise looking enigmatically down on the stalls of the street vendors. It reaches a level of bad taste that one sometimes sees here, where although sensibilities are exquisitely refined for traditional Japanese art, western art seems to hit a blind spot.

Alan, the cheapest lens that Cosina-Voigtlander make for LTM mounts also happens to be one of the best and most useful--the 35mm F/2.5 "Classic." They have announced that they will stop producing this lens so you might pick up a bargain. It is a really good lens, sharp even at full aperture, contrasty, and with excellent colour balance. This would be my recommendation if you are really thinking of a Voigtlander lens. I mostly use the 21/4, but that is probably my preference for very wide angles speaking. Many people find it quite difficult to "tame."

Your lens provides marvelous detail Roger, it makes me hanker after a Voitlander when I see what do do with yours.

I would never think of photographing some of the seemingly mundane things you do Roger, but I must admit they are quite amusing. ;-) Afterall, Japan is not merely made up of Sumo wrestlers and kimono clad geishas in front of Shinto shrines.

Stock control must be a nightmare on these market stalls!
Nice shot of this hideous Mona Lisa lording it over the market traders.
Kind regards, Chris
