Thanks Kes!
Happy New year to you and your family too!
Yes, we Canadians have New Years Day up here. I think it's a few weeks earlier than your's, like Thanksgiving ;)

Super shot, Andre! Looks like you've fixed up this fixer-upper just fine. :)

Happy New Year (Canadians have thost too, eh?) ;)

It certainly does get the "nostalgic" look and feel, Andre! I think that exactly the fact that some of us had his joy and prode from something as "trivial" as a truck speaks for itself. It is finding so much in everyday life rather than waiting for the extra-super-hyper thing to happen.

Cheers!

Thanks very much Nick.
I hope this image also gets that "nostalgic" feeling going in the viewers. As someone else mentioned, this truck was once someones pride and joy. Some people might call it junk, others can see the history.

Hi Andre!

You master that key better and better from what I see. And so I am glad for any of your future uploads. You do variate and deviate and try this and that out, but that "touchable" quality reamains. And also some vague kind of a "quiet documentary attitude" on most of your images.

Cheers!

Thanks Fadel,
Yeah, I think I like this one best too. The lighting worked well with all those rounded surfaces. Also the truck being a few generations earlier seems more interesting. Who could resist having a look at this poor old workhorse.

Thanks Nick,
I'm glad you are mentioning the "touchability". I think it is key to try and get as many shades of grey into a B&W image as you can. That along with some nice highlights in some strategic areas gives some great texture. My next image varies just a little from the first two in that respect. But I like it for different reasons.

I like this one more too Andre, with the more out of focus surroundings. Toned to taste!

I find this one even better, Andre! The old truck is a real protagonist in all its details and plasticity. It stands out so well on front of the background, which BTW adds some very high sense for depth consodreing your 80mm. I don't see such a 3-dimensionality so often at that focal length!

The amount of "solid feel" that you got onto a physically plane image is extremelly high! I think that your tonal range is mainly responsible for that. It enhanced the shadows so well that the few lighter areas of gradients provide a sense for "toucability".

Very very good!
