Avi, I would think with the amount of time you spend with photography, a good, rugged tripod would do you. And the Manfrotto seem to be of good quality. I myself have a heavy duty Bogen with a pistol grip head. There's times, though, that I wish I would put my original head back on just for steadiness, however.

And there's also something to be said for the cheapo $50 tripod. Though they seem to be very susceptible to unsteadiness, the trade off is the lightness of it when carrying it around all day.

in that case, suggest me a good tripod. A friend told me Manfrotto with adjustable grip-head.

Oh, and Avi... you could get away without tripod and cable release if you are shooting RAW... since you can tone map a single RAW file (after adjusting exposures from the single file).

Also, check E Bay for a cable release... I paid $79 at a camera shop ... and then found them on E Bay for $10.

Yes, Avi, I do consider a tripod an absolute must. and while you can get away from using a cable release by using the self timer on your camera, it slows you down considerably.

My friend was out shooting with me and she had no cable release and it took her forever to go through a sequence, even when she turned her timer down to 2 seconds.

But it is really imperative that you not touch the camera during the exposures since it may ruin quite a lot of your sequence shots. Even on a tripod, there is just enough movement to make the shots turn out blurry looking.

I just got home from work.. didn't get time to mail you - but hey, you already sent me a great beginner's guide. Well, I see that you have suggested a tripod and a remote cable release - none of ehich I possess as of now. Do you suggest that these two are absolutely essential for HDR photography ?

haven't been into UF for sometime, this shot is wonderful...i like the way you have managed so many different colors and shades...and not a easy thing to do.

I like this composition, Dave. The elements position, and the shack perspective. The HDR here goes unnoticed and for me it helps...

Best to you.
