Marguerite - Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I have posted several such spin motion luxagraphic shots.

Wow! This is really great! I like the fact that you have more detail and it doesn't look so "automatic". Glad you posted this and called my attention to it--thanks. Marguerite

Craig - Thanks for taking an interest. This is all done by hand. I hold the camera out and spin my wrist/arm.

I like the effect! How did you do it, by putting your camera on a Lazy Susan, or did you just rotate it on your tripod?

Marian - Thanks. None of these seemed to do very well (either in popularity terms or as recipients of awards), but I like them too.

1301307 - Thanks for taking a look. Luxagraphia is essentially camera motion (though I do sometimes combine that with subject motion).
This sort of vortex shot is easy enough to explain. As you can see from the lines on the edge of the photograph, the rotational motion was only of a couple of degrees (based on the length of the streak). As you close into the center the length of the streak (based on that same arc) would become vanishingly small. The hard part is merely getting the camera pointed at one thing and keeping it pointed there while you spin.

The eyes is drawn to the center of the photo because of this concentric composition, what intirgues my mind is how you were able to twist the camera perfectly with little light streak on the center. So, if this is luxagraphia, does that mean capturing the light with camera movement?

Roger - Do tell. Is it the forest series itself, or is this particular motion mundane?

Tuna - Thanks. Makes walking in the woods a little difficult, all that spinning.
