About This image (0681) was shot on 17 January 2006 at a memorial to Martin Luther King, Jr. in San Francisco.

What appears to be the floor in this shot is actually a series of thick glass panels along one wall within the monument.

The green bits are lettering carved into the surface of the glass, in many languages, spelling out quotes from Martin Luther King. The checkered area to the right is the actual floor.

Resized, cropped, shrunk, and auto-contrasted in PS.

Questions and comments are always wecome.

Wow, this image really makes you think. The perspective is very clever and convincing. All in all, a really interesting image, Emily :)

Thanks, Robin. I do hope to revisit this subject one day. I got some pretty good shots while I was there, but now I have a slew of ideas that I'd like to try out there.

Very clever and convincing James...nice play rotating the image, the writing on the "floor" adds interest and demands further study...great dof and composition!
Take care...Robin

Lubi - Thank you. I think if I get a chance to shoot it again, I'll tilt my lense down so that I have more of what I like to work with. Probably center the shot more like the way the top crop is centered on the false horizon line.

i think you cropped it just right... gives depth and an intense feel of crawling on the floor... well done...

I like this image, but I just feel like it never quite gets there.
