Thank you, Michele. According to the experts, they are always like this, just laying around during their season here.

Thank you, Ani... yup, the weather wasn't cooperating with my two days off to shoot pictures... at least it only rained sporadically.
hugs, Dave

Thanks, Shirley. When I first saw them on another beach, I didn't even realize what they were, thinking they were nothing but flotsam.

gracias, Alicia. No tenía mucha opción en cómo tomar estas fotos. Eran una manera larga apagado de donde estaba. Pero son lindas. Y perezoso. Dave

Nice shot and well composed Dave. They do look dead alright but if they just had babies they are probably very tired !!

Heya Dave!
Yep... At first glance, I thought they were all dead... lol... I have only seen (long ago) documentaries on television on elephant seals and I do recall them being very fast, when so inclined to be. I take it they only chase other critters (including park rangers) as a territorial thing... ???
Good capture here with overcast light. Makes for an almost monotone pattern at first glance...
Hugs~ Ani x x x

When I first saw this, it made me laugh, because they look like so much flotsam washed up on the beach. Then I read your 'about'. Nice photo, Dave.:)
