About Sitting in the house for 2 days with 'No Power' was COLD, and dark.
Our priorities got really clear .
Mom kinda got a bit quiet....
Willie on the other hand got a bit loud!
I think that the images can be a happy ending for all of Us. ....
(?)
Merry Christmas,

Keep clicking girl . . . the camera has power!!! Love the motivation this shot implies. Clearly shot in really adverse lighting conditions, you pay for it with the noise / grain issues you see. The eyes of the cat - the "animal redeye" version are VERY difficult to contend with. they arise when the light hits them dead-on in low light and you camera doesn't allow the flash to be moved off-camera. There are, though, a couple of tricks to deal with this. Some have used bathroom tissue or kleenex to cover the flash with some good effect. You could also try using a small piece of aluminum foil in front and "bounce' the flash off a ceiling or a wall . . . I think that might be even more effective. This way the light comes from other than a direct hit. You see? The candle behind the cat will help illuminate the BG and backlight the cat . . . but a completely different effect comes from having the candle between the cat and the camera and yet another different effect comes from having the candle behind you. Experiment and play and see what does what! Keep them spirits up my friend! (And keep the candle away from reflective surfaces like the lamp pole . . . it'll overexpose areas - as you can see.) By the way . . . a beautiful cat . . . and spoiled to I'll bet!! :)

Merry Christmas!

Michele-- thanks for sharing photos from the darkside; I am so glad you and your Mom (and cat) got through this OK and assume your power is back now. This reminds me of Wisconsin snow storms of many years ago that we suffered through. We take power for granted until we don't have it.
Wishing you WARM and happy holidays.

Lovely image Michele,in time of crisis your true self comes shining thru, much brighter than that candle.
Hope you will look past the troubles you are experiencing and have a Wonderful Festive Season.
At least you have Willie to keep you warm.
Thanks for the greetings.
