Hmmm. Hanging in "our" reception area? so this must be your significant other... Mine will not pose nor even LOOK at my photos, so you are fortunate to have someone who is so photogenic and so cooperative to share your life.

Yep. This sure is difficult to nitpick about. Even the smallest elements add up. Visually, it's perfect...
And that might just be it. It's almost too perfect.
Not sure how to say this to strike the right chord, but to me, it somehow lacks the thing to make this stick; Call it the element of surprise, the odd thing out or the "Wow-factor", but there's something too perfect.
I'm not sure that's even true, the skin tones as well as the somewhat supperior expression really catch the eye, and besides, I realise I'm reaching an obnoxious level of nitpicking on things that are too minor to even consider - even in the CC section.
This is just impressive - Top Notch upto the finest details!
Cheers,
Hugo

Steve, thanks for the compliment. To put your mind at ease no California Condors were harmed in the making of this photo although I did mess up my knee while moving a light stand. Ah the things we do for the love of photography.
Have fun and thanks again,
Phil

How many birds had to die to make that feathered bolo? Where did you get so many california condor feathers? What do you want us to critique? The image is perfect, Phil.

Helen, Thank you for the nice comment. Yes that is a little diamond stud. Guess it doesnt show up too well in the small web image. We have this image blown up to 24x30 and framed for hanging in our reception area, the stud is easier to see.
Thanks again,
Phil

This is an incredibly beautiful portrait! I love everything about it. Of course, all the obvious stuff. In particular, I love the background color you chose for it, and the texture as well. Not all washed out. On my monitor, there is a dot on the (her) right of her nose. I'm thinking it's a little stud. If that's what it is, I'm sure it looks fine as a print. Just thought I would mention it, since you wanted critique. But HEY, what a great job!!!!!
