A photographer taking a picture of a photographer helping another photographer--that's interesting. My husband has no real interest in photography or astronomy. However, he always helps with loading my telescope 'stuff' into the truck and now asks me to take pictures of particular things--mostly his indoor jungle, I mean plants. I admire how he can talk any plant into thriving under his care. Must be his charm. MAry

You have captured a wonderful superior air from the man with a slight touch of arrogance to him as well:):):) Great candid shot Roger. All the best....Ray

Thanks Anna. I don't think marriage is the best place for a teacher/student relationship (I'm glad my wife learned to drive without any help from me!) but these two seemed to be getting along fine... (but perhaps they were just engaged?) I agree this looks a little overexposed. I uploaded it from a computer I KNOW has a slightly darker screen than most but forgot to allow for that. Duh!

we girls have to learn somehow... Like the muted colours here. feels a tad overexposed but that could be your intention as I see a fair amount of grain. good composition and story telling.

I wish him luck Roger. I have had very limited sucess getting my wife to participate actively. You are very good a candids like this. I feel all clumsey and dot do well trying to include locals in an image (except in Las Vegas). Good for you. John B

Thanks, GG. I use as little JPEG compression as possible. I use PaintShop Pro. I don't know what the problem is, but I don't think it is compression artifacts... It may be the commercial scans to CD-ROM that my local shop does. I'll see if I get the same problems when I scan myself (I use the shop to save time).

Hi Roger, very nice crop. Very clever! Perfect combination of people, trees and path. I like it very much. How do you compress the image in jpg? I always see a lot of strange mini "squares" on your images (typical from the compression algorithm). A mix of noise and large pixels
