Stunning shot, you cant even see her eyes, but it is powerful enough that you don't need them. -Tim

Hi Peta,

I like the intimate mood this image creates... the small fragile baby pig in the careful hands of the girk carefully watching the pet. There is a lot of love and tenderness in this image.

best wishes,
Thilo

I have a Sigma 17-35 and its being repaired for the second time - really has out me off buying anything but Canon now.

Why not the Sigma 10-20mm? It has great reviews. I'm wondering about that one myself, just don't want to spend any money on EFS lenses, as you said :)

Thanks so much Ina - yes I've heard complaints about the 18-55 EFS, but you wont hear it from me. ppdix especially warned me, but glad I didnt listen. I have now been thinking about the 10-22 EFS, but not sure yet if I'll get a 5D so I should really get the 17-40L (Patrick Di Fruscia even suggested the 10-22 efs!) I'll keep pondering over it, no rush.

Stunning portrait, Peta. I love the expression, it perfectly fits the title. But what I admire most is the razor sharp image - wow. You did this with the kit lens? Besides the great subject and composition, the exposure and technical quality is incredible. Outstanding!

Hi Peta, the strong points of this photo are the off centered (yet vertical) composition, the tonal range, and the close crop. With those elements, I think you've created a very strong photo. Even though the interaction between Ruby and the guinea pig creates a very soft touch to this photo, I think the introvert look in Ruby's eyes alone would create more tention. I expect it to be completely countering the majority of comments, but I would (quietly) suggest to crop off the guinea pig.... (How DARE i?)

Cheers,

Hugo
