Appealing low contrast rendering, keeping the pristine snow detail intact, Dave. I like the two intersecting planes of the major trees and the gentle curve of the snow bank.

Hi Riny, thanks for the comment! This was just after we had a good snowfall last month, but since then it's been very unseasonably warm and we haven't had snow since! I'm glad I got a chance to get out then to get the shot.
Hope you're doing well, and have a great New Year!
Dave.

What a beautiful and simple photo. Very serene and quiet looking. The black and white adds to the starkness and untouched feeling of the photo. Wonderful capture and B&w conversion. Very well done.

Your title sums up the shot nicely. Very calm and peaceful scene covered in nice fresh clean snow and captures the mood by having it in B/W. I wish I could be more creative like you. I have hit a wall with my shooting skills these days. Well done buddy.

I like it, the foreground is simple and the background complex with all the tangle tree limbs and the stark contrast works very well. Pat

Hi Alison, thanks for your comment! Curves are basically a means of adjusted the contrast and brightness incrementally in the image, and in conjuction with each other.
Dave.

This came out beautifully Dave, you can feel the quiet of the spot. What does adjusting Curves do to the shot. ? Alison

Indeed, peaceful/soothing is the word that comes to mind when you look at this picture. Very interesting. Sir, was this taken at post-afternoon time? Coz I am captivated by the black shading on one side of the trees. The bench is the component that adds to the value of the pic to ten times it's original(center one).

Best wishes for the coming year sir.
Warm regards.

I like the round curve through the picture here.
looks like more than a few cm of snow.
Snow is melting here, tomorrow again plus 7 Celcius.
Cheers
Guido.

I love it when you can capture a scene after a snow before the snow is disturbed. It looks so peaceful. I especially like the snow on the benches. Del.
