Carlheinz Just revisiteinf after the recent tribute by Kevin thinking who is this guy Carlheinz and then realizing I've seen your work before. Just found your reply. What a thrill. Lou I love also. A big beautiful reassuring voice of awareness when my adolescence was frightened by conceit.
Well captured

lou reed AND patti smith: you have excellent taste in music. good concert photos, too. i've been shooting in small, dark venues lately and had absolutely no luck without flash. even with ilford 3200 at 12,800, i get almost nothing. any tips?

Terrific shot Carlheinz, always loved his music and he is one of the true greats who never got stale and commercialised like so many of his peers. Very influential still. Your shot reminds that even in his age he has stage presence that more youthful performers can only dream about.
Great to hear that he liked your photos and wanted to use them, that is a fantastic reward.

Well captured shot of the old boy of seminal rock, he still looks and importantly performs musically well. I have a great B/W raw energy shot of Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld taken in their heady days, Melbourne 1988. Unfortuanetly it's packed away 10,000Km away from where I currently live.

CB(for short) I appreciate all your kind comments. I also appreciate the comment you made at the time you pushed the shutter button on the Lou Reed image....Check my bio and I am referring to my heart actually skipping a beat each time I trip the shutter on a "winner".... I have a whimsical thought, that, if I "save" heart beats this way.... my life will eventually be lengthened by all the "winners" I capture. Ha-ha, told you it was whimsical. I saw Lou in San Diego in the mid-sixties with the VU and Nico. I was transfixed and even though I don't have a lot of his music in my collection, I am always interested in his work and journey. I believe you ahve a great portfolio and love the music thoughts and images you have offered us all. Thank you and Kindest Regards, Rik I can be reached here in Western Washington (Seattle area) e-mail at easyreeder@msn.com

Some people, they like to go out dancing, And other peoples they have to work. (Just watch me now.) And there's even some evil mothers, Well they're gonna tell you that everything is just dirt: You know, that women never really faint; And that villains always blink their eyes; That children are the only ones who blush; And that life is just to die. But anyone who ever had a heart: They wouldn't turn around and break it! And anyone who ever played a part: They wouldn't turn around and hate it! Lou Reed (Sweet Jane)

Sweet Shot

Carlheinz,

Very good depth of field for such a wide aperture. Good work.

Ian: You've deeply touched me with your comment. Lou Reeds music means a lot for me for almost 20 years, now.
I knew when I pressed the shutter that I've captured a great moment; sometimes I just feel it.
Actually I met him months later for a signing at Tower records/NYC and let him sign my photos. He was delighted and asked me for the permission to put the pictures on his web page, which is a big honor for me.
Thanks for your comment!!! Carlheinz
