This image is wonderful. It has the same expression as Wim Wenders "Paris Texas". I?m thinking about the stills from the movie. Same rich colours and same mood. I?m glad I browsed your old images. This is outstading! :)

Hi Carlheinz, love this one, especially your about "expired velvia" :)
I think you deserve your BIP for this. well done.
Also thanks for adding me to your friends list. I feel flattered and appreciated. It's nice to know someone is interested in what one tries to do, dont you think? I'll be keeping an eye out for those "expired velvia....." or "$700 tripod" shots :)
Best wishes your friend, neil

The powerlines are good, but what really gets me here are the washed out, no worn out, colors.

I like how you are getting 'out there' with these projects, really using the tools to great effect, it's the colours and the shadows of the overhead lines which lift this scene and it retains your usual stamp of CHB authenticity.

My eyes see the tension from the powerlines but my mind sees some almost forgotten childhood impression. A memory triggered by the details, in the shadows and colors, of some backstreet of a now fading "backstreets" type of town. Excellent!

This is exaclty what I meant. Those powerlines are vital in creating the atmosphere. Nice and chaotic, eratically placed, and far from a perfect "Picturesque" street scene. Very well captured. It closes the composition, and leaves the width of the street to the viewers imagination. The vignetting adds to the closed composition, but it seems to be slightly more dense on top of the image. Very good one! I wonder what a deliberate camera tilt (about 15-30 degrees would do to the image. It could emphasise the jilted atmosphere. (kind of remindsm me of "The Prodigy") Excellent shot!

Cheers,

Hugo
