Hello dear Diana,
I like the way you "travel" between all these different and interesting parts of the same world. Like to do this myself as well. I saw this nice view in an other context, where some viewers were shocked of your courage to show this image there. That was quite enjoyable. You definitly have your personal approach and style, I must say, I like it a lot. Seems you are not afraid of anything, I like that. This is a great view. Wonderful idea and perfect realisation of these contradictions in your (our) lives. Composition, expression and background fit wonderwell to your theme. Compliments, my friend !
Jo, my wife, hates ironing. So, that's why I know what I am talking about. I am probably with 20 years practise the fastest and most accurate ironing man you can think of (lol), but it's true (and I hate it also). I
Greetz, hope you and yours are doing well Albert

You are in same age of my mama! and you say the same words, with addition she hates cleaning, so she tells us always not to make a mess, if we make it, we clean it by ourselves, don't forget it is Tefal iron.

Salut Diana, this is Charles. I've just left a comment to Per Johansson whom late picture (Anemone Hepatica 2004) reminded me your pieces of poetic art and invited him to discover your work. Have you seen the pics on tulips of Debra Trean ? (She gave me the 1st comment on The Iris at Giverny).
_Hey, watch out ! You're burning my trousers...

Diana, Taking a photograph of yourself is the ultimate portrait. I say that because everyone knows what happens on the other side of the camera, but to show yourself to the world is a risk many will not take. Thanks for the comment on my recent image. :)

hello diana,
thank you for your nice welcome and congratulations to such an expressive and impressive self portrait! at first glance i found many wonderfully composed pictures of nature in your portfolio. i will be back to see more later. since i entered the community i moved a little south to spain and had some work to do establishing here in madrid. hope we can keep in touch and exchange about abstracts and painting and photography. it's a never ending story and makes up for anything i don't like to do so much. but 'hate' is a word i avoid to use because it carries so much energy the wrong way. hope to hear from you soon. all the best besos charlie.f.kohn@sixpence-pictures.com

This is great. Our old western country lifestile. The woman in a robe. The kids are out. Somewhere there is a cat, or a dog around. And the most amazing thin is that somehow people fell secure with it...how stange, but yet so human...

Hi Diana! Very nice to meet and see you here!! :) Thank you very much for your kind comments on so many of my photos! Having leisure now for the rest of the day, I will have a look on your portfolio, also curious about similarities... :) And it starts right here: I hate ironing, too !! And surely my expression is not amused :( when I do it, even though it's once every some years... This is a very good capture with excellent lighting and composition, every detail is perfectly balanced (framing included)!!! What I like most is your direct and straight look into the camera; together with your pose it creates a very direct and vivid expression; watching it for a while, one could expect you to move on or say something, like watching a film. Great effect, very good !!! Your paintings are very nice, too... :)

I iron on an "as needed basis" ...what I'd really like is to see more of your paintings...as for the photo, well it is sharp, detailed good exposure and excellent clarity...but put away the iron...it really doesn't have to get done...

Hi Ursula, I never dress up when I do my ironing (or any work in the house...(LOL.... I am even allergic to make-up). Like you I am wearing jeans and a T-shirt most of the time. The jewelry you see on the photo is just a thin chain around my neck and I wear it always, it never goes off. Thanks for your nice comments on my self-portrait. I have made this photo myself, maybe that is why I look so serious.

Oh, yes, I know the feeling! Out of curiousity, do you always dress up so much to do your ironing? I wear jeans and a t-shirt, no jewelry, for housework. Your paintings in the background are beautiful. You look very nice in light blue. Actually, this is a good self-portrait - it really gives an impression of the person.

Take care not to burn the blouse... as you will then face another 'hate...like', and actually in english 'hate' is an awfully harsh word... maybe 'dislike' is more appropriate...
Your idea is fine... it also allows the viewer to see your paintings... for which you may wish to consider www.artsig.com
There is otherwise a regrettable lack of thoughtful expression... there is a need to add i.e.MSP

Pleasant portrait, piece of neo-realism, life is not only glamour, but those boring chores.I had a glimpse of your paints, no enough to have an opinion. But curiosity is one of my strong points. Why not shot them and mail them to my place (jorge_menezes@netcabo.pt)? I love paint, when in high school I used to paint and make drawings. This was very good for my status towards my Drawing teacher, but I gave up, I was not good enough and I hate to be an also runner. Thanks for your kind words. But you must congratulate, not me, but Madeira island, my camera and some PS aid. Regards jorge Your picture? top rank, imo !
