I think I would prefer that both of the blossoms be in sharp focus. That is just my opinion. BILL

Michael, Thank you for your post. I wanted to get more of the sky and the ground, but when I found out that my cheap little tripod would only let me sit at landscape. I put as much of the ground as I could, but still clipped the top of the fireworks. ( That'll teach me. I'll bring my better tripod next time. I really lucked out with the quality since this was my first real stab at fireworks.

I think you nailed the exposure - only trick with these is if you should include any of the ground to get a sense of scale. I see the top of a tent, but I get the feeling that the bottom was kind of boring (not like Manhattan or anything) - so probably a good call on the composition.

Amazing that too and I love the hairy lines at the main line of fire....... perfect and under not 100% night sky. Amazing quality and details....perfect focus and impressive result for only f/11 ....wow... I could say that is a shot taken with f/22 of EVEN SMALLER!!!! SUPER!

Well, the point of view here is increadible so that arck looks like....some miles high!!! GREAT POINT OF VIEW...and sharp, I think that I could cut my finger trying to touch the photo... also great symetry here, perfectly placed into the frame...looks like you took long time to be soooo perfectly centered, very good, closed to an abstract composition too!

Thank you for you comments John... I too was impressed that I was able to cature such detail on my first time shooting fireworks and on a new camera to boot. I just lucked out. I have to give thanks to all the posts I read on UF.

Thank you for your comments Mike... I too am bothered by the "frame". When I got to Powell Gardens, I noticed that my mini tripod only gave me the option for landscape, so I did the best that I could. It also didn't help that my 3 year old kept kicking my tripod. ;o)

Excellent long exposure and the result is PERFECT, very clear and sharp...magic clarity on the smaller fireworks sparks....amazing...oh you really use with increadible clarity so small details...these looks like smaller than a pixel! PERFECT!!!

Very nice.
Exposure is awesome.
Focusing is also very nicely done.
the thing that bothers me is that the orange firework does not fit into the frame...

Like it. Reminds me of the front of a ship rising up. I like the reflection and the patterns too. Powerful.

I think this is my second favorite - a strong statement, really sharp, and the colors and tones are strong. I'm a sucker for simplicity.

A real master at the art on UF is Jeanette Hagglund if you look her up.

Hi Eric:

I tried a similar shot a while back, so it is good to see that great minds think alike. I really like the expressive composition to make the arc simplified and graphic. Great treatment. Hard to keep the whole thing in focus with the sun up there in the sky.

Yeah, I think I would emphasize the top--maybe crop a little off the bottom. It does look pretty cool though.
