hi linda! thank you for your interest in my work...yes, this was a long exposure. cant remember what was it as it was such a long time ago.

you have a very outstanding portfolio which many images i greatly enjoyed. they remind me of the venerable kodak T-max and darkroom tonal work. one of my favourite is the "webbed", which is original outtake.

i wish you success in your photographic undertakings!

p/s: i invite you to www.morselelite.com way i showcase some of my work. and i look forward to hearing from you!

regards,
stephen

the clear details in sand stands out. i love the tension between the cloud and the boat, the use of the white wave crests on the horizon to create the distinct colurs is very smart. lovely piece of materialised concept!

this is one of the most imaginative concepts i have seen for a while here. it's beautiful. and your portfolio is very impressive. the colours, the warmth, the emotions that they bring out. you create very lovely work.

hello mei. i know where this place is! my friend and i went shoot there late last year. (see linked image)
http://www.usefilm.com/image/217547.html

it was taken in the drizzle. Rahman was working the lens and i was sheltering him and camera with the umbrella! needless to say, i was wet in the rain. it was fun memories, and your picture sure brought them back to me!

the dimples of the golf ball retains the details and depth. an immaculate piece of work. however, i dont quite understand the film speed used on this. (sorry, not quite a digital-buff) we can see a slight feathered layer of the driver against the green on the upper right side though.

the splash of red is eye-catching. i almost thought it was the national flag of Trinidad & Tobago. interesting stuff. but the "jaggies" can be seen especially behind the stair rail. overly JPEG compressed, i suspect.

fluid. good choice of shutter speed, retaining overall sharpness of girl yet with the movement of bubbles and wand. the tones are fine., with any over-exposure will have caused the blond hair edges to merge with the bright sky.
immaculate. certainly one of my favourites.

the panaromic crop (or format, since u didnt state) works for the this image. amazing colours & composition. its a very good image.......that works for me. favourites, it goes into my collection.

it's lovely, remember to put the lens as near as possible to the window pane, it will take care of those pesky unwanted reflections at the top left corner......i see you are quite good at this! =)

on lighter side: he is probarbly shouting " i sell no chicken with bird-flu, no beef with mad-cow, and no french fries genetically engineered."

-cue in the music- "i'm loving it!"

on technical side: not too sure your A80 has hotshoe for external speedlight. try bouncing flash or lower the power of flash while bringing down the shutter speed to get some background details. how about including the whole palm? doesn't look complete with 3 and a half fingers!

neat creativity u did on this one albeit a little camera shake. how about changing this into contrasty B/W?
good job!

jingle: nikkor 35-70mm lens has a "macro" setting(not true macro), it allows the closest focusing distance to close up from 0.6m/2 ft to 0.28m/0.9 ft. i supported my camera by leaning my elbows in between against my knees. (similar to aiming a rifle in the sitting position). i hope that helps! with regards to your picture, the square crop strengthens the subject compostion(ie. the lovers in embrace). the trade-off in this case is including the pavilion roof and sacrifice subject size and clarity. i think you did well, its tricky to meter in this case since they are in partial shade and at the same time, you got the mid-tones right.

its spontaneous, jingle. playing with depth of field did well for this image. how about trying a square crop for this one? the half-cropped window on the left make the entire feel a littlle incomplete. what do u think?

this is good concept thanks to lines of railway, overhead beams and other linear guides . emphasis brought out further through black and white. you may want to manually override the ISO to lower film speed to see differences.
(this was at queenstown looking aft east, yeah? like the friendly announcements they always blare: for ur own safety, please stand behind the yellow line!)

hey renee! i am moved. the vantage point and the depth in the picture is perfectly-executed. and the outline is detailed yet restraint. best is that ripples of the water adds the finishing touch to one of the best works i have seen yet.

hello! this was taken from the front windscreen of the city's underground train system. hell of tight squeeze. no tripod/monopod. i rested the camera on the top of the dashboard. i tripped the shutter and hoped for best! (with bracketing, of course)

hey bro! i am assuming this is scanned from a flatbed....image quality seems to be a little on the soft-side. the scan didnt do this image justice! =)

forgive my ignorance, but is that a plant in the background behind the head or is it part of the head-gear?

nice except for the ermm...a little unrealistic light/shadow angle for the girl. it doesnt mate with the shade under the mushroom's canopy & ambient sunlight.
