About Self Portrait - PS Layers.
This house was built in 1857, and it belonged to the light keeper. The abandoned lighthouse next to it (not seen here) was even then in the 1800's thought to be haunted. More information here, it's very interesting:

I'd forgotten that ....... that the whole zeitgeist was actually started by a tribe of wild Romanians ....... runs in the blood?..... :))))

Thanks John for the neodada analogy: Tristan Tzara after all, was Romanian! There is no personal connection between me and the old lightkeeper's house. Instinctively I photographed it because it looked intriguing. Now You've promted me to look at the story, and yes, there is a whole history behind this house.
Maybe I'll post some ghostly pics of the adjacent lighthouse too. Cool comment!

The look on your face suggests the viewer is invited to try and uncover some secret here...... the connection between you and this old house most likely. I'm guessing that the secret is no secret and that you simply found the house an interesting subject. Intersting neodada ..... nicely done ........ unusual.

Good Morning, Ina and ... thank you so much! In fact, your reply was the first comment I spotted in the comments section today while I was still rubbing my eyes :) You put so much time/energy in replying to others; your big heart impresses me. *hugs*

Nice capture of the worn paint texture. I like the self portrait at the bottom corner where its not visible at first look. Creative work Ina.

Nostalgic pic, very nice in its simplicity -- this is what you may say at first sight but then you discover the shrewdly hidden face and realize, this is not so simple at all. I like the trick: involving the viewer step by step. Cheers: Gyuri

I'm sure that there is no doubt in your mind that I would love this, Ina! It has it all...the old look...the peeling paint...the missing window...the shadows...and even the hint of greenery on the left side adds interest to the shot! I love this! Well seen!
Kathy
Just about missed your image in there...too many other things to look at...very INA! :)

Hi Ina! WOW ... this is the coolest and most intriguing self portrait I?ve seen :) Love it ... the idea and execution/tones and textures! The old house raises so many questions, and so does your eyes!

Oh no, not another scary picture. I was going to go to bed. The way you inserted youself in the window pane is creative. Why are you looking at me that way. Ahhhhh...... Just Kidding.

Beautiful composition of diferent sort of rectangles; but in frist plan there are windows, that are made to be looked through, even if the one who is looking is at the same side as what is being looked at...

After all, "through the mirror" is not such a strange experience, and an empty frame is not so different from a mirror if one admits that he/she is just the reflection of those of the other side... These frames!! They'll make me mad!

Congratulations for this great work, Dear Ina.

What a very creative and subtle work of art. I had to look for the self portrait in there. That's very clever and effective. I love the subject of the old house. Wonderful textures and shadows. It looks like the door is ever so slightly cracked open inviting me to go inside what looks to be a haunted house. Haunted maybe by the image in the window? Uh oh...I'm scaring myself. :O

Great work Ina. Have a nice weekend.

Cheers - Ann :)
