Absolutely beautiful, Ina!! This has solved all of the problems I found with "Still Life with Pineapple". The composition is terrific, and the subdued palette works beautifully. You really brought the pineapple into it all in a super way, especially including the reflection. Congratulations!!! Steve

A truely spectacular arrangement. Ina, one of the difficult aspects of this still life style is the very elaborate arrangements using many objects, all placed in a way that makes the individual objects attractive as each one also plays an importamnt role in the look of the grand arrangement. And the mirror-tray placement behind the pineapple backside is VERY clever and effective. Great idea! You just keep getting better and better at this.
As to the image, I think the lighting and color pallatte are very effective in creating the old style of still life. There is a lot of yellow, perhaps a bit too much, or perhaps not, but in any case, the old style effect is clearly present. The shooting angle and framing is subperbly chosen.
A suggestion, you might try grouping the glass beads in front a bit closer together. They look a little flat here (litterally speaking) almost like coins, and so placing a few of them close together, even overlapping, might help dispell that illusion.
On the post processing, I see the effect you're going for, but I think you may have gone a little too far with it. The fruit, particularly the fruit along the front edge has lost some of it's dimensional qaulity and appears more flat. There is a certain amount of that which gives a painterly look, but the period of still life you are modeling here has accurate three dimensional shading, and some of that has been lost in the post processing, I think. Perhaps the effect you are using darkens darks while lightening lights, having the result of losing some transitional color? (I'm guessing here). It gives the appearance of a very bright light source to the right in the image.
But PLEASE Ina, don't let this critique give the impression that I don't like this work. It's fantastic. These beauiful objects are VERY artfully arranged, lit, and shot. The evolution of your skill and understanding of this style is impressive!
Very best regards, Mark

This is even better than the other, on the way on turning photos into paintings! This has the texture of a painted canvas. The light on fruits is much better, the pineapple has even a reflection!Love that silverware, I believe they are an intrinsic element of a still life, Old Masters Style.Yes, the richness in the folds of the cloth in the background is most welcome and we got there the shadow on the pineapple leaves, too.I am VERY HAPPY with what you are creating and I believe that a lot of people would love to have such paintings on their walls, should you attempt to turn them into real canvasses. It might be a revival of the old art, I think the world is ready for it. All my love and support, Gabriela
