Thanks for the beautiful comment Inji,
I always enjoy reading your comments. You put so much thought into them. I think most people like to watch gulls. At least when they are at sea. They seem to be free to do what ever they like.

Hi Stefan,
We should all have such a difficult life as this guy :)
I saw him running along the beach to where the gulls were and I asked him why he was in such a hurry. He told me that's where the fish are. We watched him catch two in about two minutes.

Thanks Ray,
I'm trying to keep up the variety with my posts lately. I usually do about three images with the same theme, but I have really been jumping around with my ideas in the last couple of days. Could be that I'm turning into the "Jack of all trades, master of none" :)

Yes it is a good edit. Really portrays the difficult life this man is leading - not!

Great presentation Andre, very creative way to flank the central shot. Details are stunning in all three, I love them. Well done my friend and very best wishes to you....Ray

Hi Thilo,
I agree, probably if I was to use the water level line just below the rocks as the horizontal, it might look a little better. Probably about 3 degrees CW. But, above the rocks there are a lot of other lines at all kinds of angles too so who knows? I think about 3 degrees CW might put the fisherman at a little more pleasing angle too. Not a big deal though. If I was going to frame it, I would change it. I was aiming for the horizon slant on the two side images and tried to make them like a continuation, even though they are not from the same image.
I always appreciate your suggestions Thilo, I don't always agree, but I have enough sense to realize that you have a great eye and I respect your input.

Hi Andre,

very crispy outcome and interesting "column" composing with the seagulls flanking the fisherman. I would think about tilting the middle image a tad CW to get a straight horizon. Just an idea though =)

best wishes,
Thilo

Thanks Rosario,
This was taken in New England, (two hours from Boston) but it could be almost anywhere in the world. I thought you might like it because of some of your previous posts.

Optimal composition, perfect the fisherman with the gulls to its flank. Congratulations. Good bye

Thanks Darlene,
As I explained to Susie, I didn't think either of them was strong enough on their own. But I am pretty pleased with this combo result. It gave me a nice little fishing story.

Thanks Susie,
I wanted to do a kind of a story type image with this one. The middle shot might have been okay on it's own in the portrait format. There was too much unwanted stuff in it full frame. The shots with the gulls were part of some multiple shots that I took of the feeding frenzy. I had some where the fish were partially in and out of the water. But, They just were not good enough to post. I was pretty happy with the way this came together. The shots were taken only ten minutes apart, but for some reason the water colour appears quite different in the middle frame. Position of the sun, I guess.
Thanks for commenting.

I LOVE this Andre. It was so eye catching from the thumbnail and the photo did not disappoint. Very creative presentation. The middle photo could stand alone, but the water on each side flanks it perfectly. Well done!!
