To the Navajo, this valley holds spiritual power. I think you've captured some of it in this shot. A magical place, difficult to photograph, you've done a fine job. Thanks for sharing.

Kri-yi-yi you have been everywhere...
Like you, I like visiting the National Park System, and noticed some common locations. Great shot, hard to get a dramatic feel when you have haze and other stuff to deal with.
Going to continue browsing, I like to see shots from other usefilmers at the same locations I have visited.
For inspiration, you can check out Patrick Di Fruscia. He has a Monument Valley shot that blows your socks off.

Having lived in AZ, I love the southwest. I love the landscape of Monument Valley and this is a classic view.. After looking at the image, I was wondering what you were focusing on? Seems like the foreground is more in focus than than rock formations. The image came out pretty nice considering it was overcast and hazy...

Beautiful colors, nice perspective with the symmetrically captured three rocks. You could add something individual to the well-known landscape. Greetings, Gyorgy

Beautiful view of the 'mittens' as they're called, especialy when you drop down from that scary mountain road! A skylight filter is essential on such days where the refractive index of the air is high, robbing the image of both contrast and saturation. Early morning or dusk is the best time to capture Monument Valley. Better still, camp out there :). This image wants me to go back there... I guess I should give in and go!

Great capture Ann, I believe this would equally look good converted to grayscale (B&W) with the right amount of contrast for a moody & dramatic result. Thanks much for taking the time to view my images, happy shooting & cheers.

Ann - just read your boigraphy and looked at some of your shots. My only complaint being that you are too modest!! Your shots are beautiful, well composed, magical and it does NOT have to do with the scene! Well done. Very sought after and impressive sounding lifestyle you seem to have too. Enjoy. Kind regards Shirley

Majestic landscape, Ann! The colors and the perspective are fantastic! I actually likethat bit of haze, it gives a sense of distance. Beautifully composed, it's an awesome sight! Do I see a giant lizard hiding behind that rock?

Funny you should do that Douglas. I do have a B&W copy and almost posted that one but posted the colour instead. Don't know why. I think people relate and almost expect MV to have the red colours so I left it as is. Can post the B&W another day though.
Thank you for taking the time to view and comment.
Cheers - Ann :)

Hi Rob,
I really should try to photograph all my subjects in 3's just to remain in keeping with the rule of 3rds. :)
Yes we do get around quite a bit. I believe we are nomadic gypsies at heart and love it that way.
Thanks for stopping by. Cheers - Ann :)
