Thanks very much for your input in this Erik, I greatly value your opinion. I liked the original as well, then started to doubt that instinct. Mistake I guess. I dd see the merit of the crops suggested, but after letting it settle for a bit, I like the original most. You remarks helps cement that sentiment. Thanks again.

i like the original post best. in the the subsequent versions the car looks crowded into the frame. here she's free to breathe. nice shot!!

Gidday Mark. Interesting discussions here with Yahya. I can see the differences between all three, the car in the shadow crop you did has weight. I'm not sure the space to the right neccesary because as shown in Yahyas effort the car can be seen to be coming at us, hence possibly more impact even without the right hand space.

Hi Mark,
I heard somewhere that Rowan Atkinson only had his McLaren f1 for a short while before he crashed it. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that story or how serious the crash was supposed to be. I think he is quite well off from money that he made from his tv show, Mr Bean. I can take him or leave him myself.
A few years ago now before George Harrison died, The remaining Beatles made a video for an old recording that they put together for their Beatles Anthology album. There is a scene in it where George pulls up outside a cottage in his McLaren F1. The video is either Free As A Bird or the other one that was released around the same time. (can't remember the name right now)

Hi Andre. No I didn't know George Harrison had one of these. Nor Rowan Atkinson. His movies must be more successful than I'd thought as I saw on the web that these are $1,000,000 USD a copy. This 1996 model is said to be capable of 230 mph and 0-60 mph in under 3.5 secs. Wow. If I had the money for on of these I would quicly convert it to the world's most expensive casket, I'm certain!

dear Mark,
Mr Mohammed Banna suggested a subject to focus on for our photos for september, since there are no new projects at UF. and he suggested "BOOKS".
he and others started posting their works and mine is coming soon hopefully.

Thank you for your further attention in making this crop, Yahya. I see clearly now what you mean now and I do agree that this crop is best of all.
And I did take a look at your portfolio. Excellent work, my friend. I espcially liked your spectacular photography of the Sultan Hassan Mosque. Very well done!
I don't know of your book photo series. Could you please provide a link so that I may look? It sounds very interesting.

hi mark.
this is what i meant with equal cropping, the space on the left was ok, i just wanted an equal space on the right. u have to leave enough space around ur subject. plus u cropped area of the shadow under the car, and ofcourse the McLaren shadow aint cheap at all, they can bring us in court for that :)

Thanks for your comment Yahya. In looking at the posted shot above, I find that I feel that the car is not very well grounded in the frame, but seems to float a little too much. You mention that you don't like the uneven space at the sides of the shot, yet I do like that aspect. I was attempting to leave a little space in front of the general direction that the car would travel to not make it seem crowded. Yet still, your comment makes me think... I've tried an alternate, tighter crop of this shot in an attempt to ground the car in the frame a little better and center the subject a bit more.
Please, anyone viewing this, don't hesitate to give me your opinion on this crop and the original image's crop. I find cropping to be one of the more challenging artistic aspects of my work.

wonderful car Mark, though I find the reflection of the door on the windscreen distracting. perhaps different lighting conditions, or without the door open?
