Yep Rob you better listen to your mother on this one..I had troubles seeing what Lukasz said but then I saw his crop...now I interrupt with this little piece of information...I have a lot of respect for Lukasz and his work, it's awesome....he's one of the best we have here....BUT...and you know there has to be one...this is an awesome composition..you have several things working for you in this one..starting with the water leading the eye into the image right up to the beautiful mountains and then there is the line of trees making a nice diagonal leading the eye to that beautiful sky where you have a break in the clouds leading the eye through the sky and back to the trees and down..so you have an S in your composition....totally wonderful and beautiful composition...I agree with your mother that if you crop that bottom portion you lose the beautiful reflections and especially that piece of blue sky...which I think offers vertical balance if that makes any sense...this is all my humble opinion...but the image is just beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing...but that's just me....well seen and captured...:):)Linda

Rob, I don't think you should do anyting with this shot. If you did crop it, you would be left with a typical shot through some tree's of a mountain. I think that leaving the shot as is. brings balance to it. gives it some strength.
The only thing I think you should do is send me a copy of it, so I can frame it and hang it on my wall.
Kudo's to you bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sam

Fabulous place, Rob!! And a fine capture, though I'd be tempted to lose a little of the blown-out sky at the very top of the frame. Kind regards, Chris

OK, I've said it before but here I go again: Listen to your mom!!! I agree with her on this one... don't crop (and normally I'm all for it.... LOL) because you loose light/color. Great view, colors and composition... it's just what it says in the project... a classic landscape shot... well captured!!!

I disagree with Lukasz - sorry - but I think the reflections in the water are great. They also give a zing of the blue of the sky and help balance the shot. My first thought when I saw this one - was this is almost my favorite of all those you have taken of Yosemite! My second thought was "He leadeth me beside the still waters". This is just simply a beautiful and very tranquile, very peaceful shot and feeds the heart and soul. The composition is also really outstanding. The trees on the left swoop down in a graceful curve and lead your eyes right directly to the mountain in the background - with the evergreen on the right side closing the frame. One of your best! And NO Moms do NOT have to say good stuff if they don't think it's good stuff! Mom (aka Jan)

just beautiful; well spotted and done; for the composition I would crop the bottom part of the wood (to tre trunk) cause it adds nothing here and disturbs the view regards Lukasz
