About

Sitting in a massive pile of sawdust in the late afternoon sun. We weren't too concerned about shadows at this time, as we were mainly concentrating on getting used to the camera and its settings in different lighting. We will probably look at using the reflectors down the track...but one step at a time.

This particular photo I liked all the deep shades of red against the contrast of the blue.

Very nice again, maybe a lettle more saturation to the blue, maybe not.

wow!!

You sure have a hot body(no offence intended) but in this particular photographer it's the grace and uprightness that forms the central point of interest...it just appears as if a Godess is perched high up on her apostle and contemplating about higher powers up there.
It just might have appeared sensous the way your knee appears out of the fabric of your skirt and the kind of tempting figure you have but the way your hands curve around your belly and the upright posture with eyes loking upwards, it makes it for a very classy and graceful posture.
And ya definately the color contrast is wonderful....

Best Wishes
Pankaj

P.S. i even liked the presentation.

Yes...the "RED" you could found a powerful harmony between the colour of dress and the sun light on desert. this is so delicate.

Thankyou Ahmed. I was really happy with this one. I didn't enhance the colour but my hair looked like it was on fire.

Like the contrast and the balance in composition. The red of your hair, dress and the saw dust against the blue is very beautiful.

These images were taken at a sawmill....the sawdust left over from their works is sold on the side as an extra income.

Great colours Judi, the question that comes to my mind is how many trees did it take to make so much saw dust and why.

the previous comment i wrote seems to have disappeared. Maybe Kelly can tell us where it is! Anyway, love the bold colors and the strong pose in the image. Like the placement of the subject to far left and the bifurcated angled complementing colors. And it is just a really nice image. Your friend has done well Grasshopper. More of this series, please.

The red on blue and diagonal skyline work really well together Judi to bring about an excellent image! I also like how your clothing and hair almost blend into the background thus accentuating the curve of your legs and arms and emphasising the skin tones. Superb image!!!

You arent that relaxed on this shot.. looks like you trying your best to sit still instead which gives abit stiffness (hope you dont mind me being honest). Also that you look up doesnt work either as it looks abit odd of you sitting like that and look up. I would love to see this shot in a more relaxed pose.. =) Everything else works as the composition and colors/light.

Cheers

Aw shucks, I like his pictures of youuuuuuuuu, darn!

Ok, I'll look at them too.

Took delivery today of a remote wireless shutter release for my D70, first test shots are neat. Don't like to be tethered to my camera. About half the price of the angel wired remote.....neat??

That may Improve his work LOL, NO, This is really a beautiful portrait of you. I really like what you have taught him, the lighting and special color of the sawdust goes well with your attire and your HAIR, It must be fun taking portraits when you have a pretty model that can tell you what to do.....
Outstanding..

  0

Paul Lara Paul Lara   {K:88111} 7/19/2005
The dramatic steep slope of the sawdust, combined with your statuesque pose really makes this portrait for me, Judi.

Then there's the whole 'can't go wrong with a woman in red' theory of photography, which you have so gracefully illustrated for us.

Thanks Kel, I am working on it. He is a fantastic photographer. And he is keen to convert to digital...so that is what we are working on with these shots. It is a 'huge' change for him. That's why we didn't worry about reflectors and such as I had him on manual and I felt that was enough to think about the first time out.
