About The last one of series, hopefully explaining the functionality of this pen beyond reasonable doubts. I needed moderate PS work to blow out the background to white, preserving the shadows.

See also http://www.bridea.nl/index2.html

Actual shooting data:
Focal Length 35mm
Shutterspeed: 1/15 sec.
Aperture: f/25
EV comp: +1 2/3 EV

Photoshop: A bit more than the previous one, had to adjust the levesl to make the background as high key as it is. The shadows are natural, though....

My appologies for the extremely long radio silence from my side. To my friends: thanks for your support, nothing wrong with me, I'm just tied up with work at the moment. My return to Usefilm is only a brief one, but judging by the way things look now, I'll have a bit more time on my hands in August. Can't wait to get back and return to becoming active on Usefilm again.... In the mean time, please bear with me....:)

All comments are, as usual, very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Hugo

another great product shoot... the flash/lighting may be a bit harsh in spots but nice composition...

I don't see how you can improve on this technically. The utility of combining a pen with a paper clip (of sorts) is not immediately clear to me, but I am sure I am in the minority :-)

Dont worry my friend! =)

I like this shot Hugo.. its clear what the pen does and the quality is great. Clarity, colors, light and composition is very good! Take care my friend and dont work to much! One need to take it easy sometimes (almost broke down myself due to overworked)

Cheers

First of all, nice to see you back but not active enough to heat up the atmosphere :) just kidding..I like the way start where you end last one, a product items, and the composition of highly pre-arranged work, that?s exactly of commercial demand. Lovely pro work, hope to see you around again take care. Saeed

Hi Hugo, so nice to see you back(and the long awaited final shot of the series). You have nicely captured and composed this handy item, good 3D to it. I think anyone looking at this would appreciate having one. A nice great job of isolating it on white and with the delicate shadow. I saw the 1st image of series on the website in blue version, interesting to see it in use.
Thanks again for your honest critiques and tips, which together with your work,I find you one of the top sources of photographic help on the site.

Hi Roby, thanks for your comment. You're right: the pen is used for promotion of Total's new fuel, and the booklet the pen is clipped to is a route map you can get at the Total gas stations.

Cheers,

Hugo

Dear Verena, No, haven't been involved in the design. I was merely asked to take the product photos. As to the flyer, it wasn't my choice either, but it was kind of a rush job, and we had nothing else available. Besides, both the pen and the folder are part of Total's promotion of their new fuel...

Good to talk to you again!

Cheers,

hugo

Wow, so neat and clean, excellent macro/still life shot. Very good colour balance, the white background was well worth the PS work.

the series is continued, well done,.. I have looked the website, nice, and great!

Ciao Hugo,

as a young adult I was always keen on nice or different pens, pencils etc. here is a good example of a two ways of usage. Have you been involved in the design?

About the shot, I would liked to see it with a magazine with less colours...IMHO it makes it too colourful and distracting from the main object.

I will stay tune and you keep care on you and your family.

Take care
a hug
Verena

Hi Hugo
First of all good to hear your busy working and keeping the "wolf from the door" no pun intended.

Secondly, like the product shoot above but not sure I see much of a "unique selling point" of the thing but that's with my business consultants head on...apologies for that.

Thirdly, miss your constructive comments and hope to hear from you when you have the time.

Cheers for now

Manu

Thanks Max! Good to hear from you again! Life sure has been busy, and will be. Hopefully I'll have some more time on my hands in August, and I'm longing back for some quality time on Ufi....:) Thanks for putting me on your friends list again.... Quite a surprise, as I understood your arguments for removing me perfectly well. But nonetheless, I'm very happy about it...

Hope to talk to you soon,

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

Hi stranger! So glad to see you back, we all have been wondering about you!

And you've come back with another fantastic image, looks a bit complicated to me. Very good!

You should be doing commercial photography, you're good at it!

Again, good to see you!!!
Lori :)

hi, and welcome back even if for a moment...this is very impressive to me because it is exactly the way i want commercial product ads to be: simple, use illustrated well and to the point! The clarity of course is superb and the high key background suits this presentation...there is a nice reflective sheen on the pen...if i saw this pen for sale,i would buy it because of its simple ingenuity....like the diagonals,too...good work,Hugo..regards,gayle

Happy to see you again dear Hugo!!! I know sometimes life is hard with us and takes far from the things we love, anyway you are here now and that?s enough. This is not my favourite kind of photo, but I must say it?s perfect in my opinion, a very good commercial image. Do not make us wait too much for the next photo ;) Bye, Max
