Hi Marilyn, I drew round the butterfly and put him in a separate layer and then just worked on the background. Not sure what I did exactly I know I darkened it, I think put a green filter over to deepen the colour and I painted the flowers heads with matchine yellow to the bits that were already there. Thank I then sharpened it all Hope this helps

Great capture Marilyn, always great to get this close to them in the wild.
When they are very active I "cheat" and spray a solution of sweet sugary water onto the petals of my plants. And if the butterflies don't land then I end up eating the plants myself ;-)

Marilyn Lovely butterfly - aren't they awkward not sitting still LOL I can't even get one to land :). It seems quite sharp and good detail, as well as being pretty. I had a fiddle with the background and cropped a bit to see if it brought the eye more to the butterfly see what you think
