This little girl whom I did post before with her dad, wasn't too sure. She seems still to have a wonderful look of confidence kind of "If dad says yo are ok then maybe you are" lol I loved it she is so pretty, healthy little one. I can't get the blurring the backround thing right. Maybe with practice. :-)
You chose the background well here, Alison, and being unblurred doesn't distract. The windows give a nice BG pattern. The lighting is great, and the form of the fave and hair is well captured. Congrats.
In this composition I like the fact that the background is in focus because it connects her to the environment she lives in. Beautiful portrait. The available light is perfect and I love that you've captured her full body.
As for getting the background out of focus, it is easier to do so with a telephoto lens and a wide open aperture. But it would be a different photo.
