About Went out for a short time after working in the home office today. tried to get a shot of a blackbird but they were always in the wrong place . I started watching some geese and swans and the next thing you know this guy starts singing up a storm in a tree. I shot from 4 different locations until I finally got to this one which I thought was too close and would spook him. Nope he had songs to sing. This is a big crop out of the 100 percent file.
Hope you like it

Too right black birds are difficult to shoot but you've caught this one magnificently. That little splash of red on the wing is gorgeous. I bet his song is something to hear. Great capture.

Great capture Jim, it is surprising that these birds are identical to the "Blackbird" over here but ours are minus the red flash on them.

I managed to see some when I was in MD last year.

Best wishes,
Steve

Jim, they are hard to get good close shots of, believe me I've tried! Anyway you caught this one very well and with his beak open! I can almost hear him singing!

I can't say I've seen a blackbird like this one before, Jim. Ours are plain black (male) and brown (female) ~ no splashes of red.
Nice shot of this enthusiastic songster.
Best regards, Chris

Good detail....
I tried to get a good shot of the same type of bird just yesterday Jim....no luck here.
The catch eye in this is perfect, it's so hard to get the eyes to show on black birds....especially when the eye is black also.
