Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Hi Dawn,

Very nice diagonals in this photo, and a good choice of square crop.

As far as saving photos for upload to UF, this is what I do: Image>Duplicate, flattening any layers. Then on the new image, I resize (Image>Image size) to the required dimension (usually I just resize it to 50% or 25% of the original, whatever fits), do any required sharpening with Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask. Finally, File>Save for web... which is the only stage at which I save to JPEG.

Hope this helped.

Hi Larry, Thanks for looking at my postings. I haven't been able to post for quite a while because of illness. It looks like I'm finally on the mend but now I'm broke. I actually have taken a few shots but the ones I would really like to post I need to scan. Wouldn't you know it, my computer won't recognize my scanner anymore. Well, when things go wrong, they really do don't they.

You've inspired me. I'll try to get something up shortly.

My kind of shot, very nice composition, if you do photoshop you could play with blurring the background more and adding some more contrast. How come you don't post anymore?

Hi Dawn. I like the grain shot, however; my eyes keep going back and forth from the grain and the wood left and behind the grain. I like the colour of the grain and the way it's leaning. Maybe you can get a some more shots of grain without anything else in great detail behind it.

Regards,
