About A beautiful Spanish lady (my wife, actually!) in a traditional Japanese kimono in Togakushi-yama Temple, Nagano. the ancient and sacred waterfall flows gently in the background.

We were attending the Shinto wedding ceremony for my cousin and his Japanese bride. My wife was the only non-Japanese woman present and it took 3 attendants almost an hour to dress her in the traditional kimono. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

My suggestion: try to get yourself invited to a Japanese wedding!

Can you spot the only non-traditional detail? Hint: should be a fan!

Excellent work, Omar!

I have been at a Japanese marriage and it was overwhelming. It was a traditional marriage and a big event.
After the official event the party went on with "best friends" ...
It was a wonderful once in a lifetime experience, I agree, Omar!

Bye, Frank

You bet, my wife and I agreed it ws the best holiday we ever went on. If you haven't been to Japan, I strongly suggest you go. Its a photographers paradise and because its a camera culture, people are natural models!

Good capture Omar,
It's a nice memory shot.
I used to like the japanese women wearing their traditional beautifully colored kimono.
I think your wife hold in her left hand a small digital camera instead of the traditional fan.
Good capture my friend, congrats for you and your wife.
Bye,
Khaled.

Thanks for your comment. Actually a kimono like this costs around $1000 or more! We borrowed this one from the bride's mother who happened to be the perfect size.
Japanese culture is incredible! I agree fully...

A camera? O_o!

Anyway that aside, Omar this is wonderful....okay part of it because I am in love with the Japanese culture and I envy your wife right now for that beautiful traditional dress! I want one just like it! lol

The composition is brilliant, the light is just perfect, her pose is sweet..and she is pretty! Mashallah.

Regards and congrats on your cousin's wedding,

Mkm

I think cameras should be considered traditional japanese gear by now :-) Very nicely lit and edited with the subdued colors.

Thanks! I tried to simulate those old Japanese geisha postcards with the faded colours..
I give you one more guess on the electrical object (hint: what do we all have in common on this site?)
:-)

She is beautiful Omar! Lovely shot and she looks nice in that kimono. Imagine - 1 hour for getting dressed. I see that she has something I guess is a electrical object, but i can?t see what. Lovely pale colors and composition.
