About Subject background: Vertigo, part three =)

View from the clock tower in Venice, Piazza San Marco. The world as we know is diagonal. At least in my view =)

PS background: Cropping, the usual layer stuff, manual toning

As always: honest feedback highly appreciated.

I found some humor here. Nothing wrong with the tower. Its the other building that's tilted. It was fun going trough your photos Thilo and I'll try to remember to visit

Dear Antonio,

thanks for the suggestions. The cropping was not an easy task for me. I tried the horizontal version but wasn't pleased with the outcome.

Take care,
Thilo

I like so much this diagonal compo because its visual feedback is perfectly played on the building perspective

Hi Thilo, yep, this is a very effective angle, and a very strong perspective. Well captured, and I do think (and not for the first time) the toning is very good. The thing that makes the perspective so effective is the tilt in the vertical lines. Keeping them vertical would've made the image more static; adding a stronger third diagonal could maybe emphasise the near ortogonal composition and lineplay, but that's only a minor thing, irrelative to the quality and atmosphere of this photo (more of a contrmplation on my part, thinking out loud, as usual). Very well captured, and a sound PS job.

Cheers,

Hugo

mmm nice thilo; I would also try different croppings; 1. without any square space and 2. without any roof space. So just vertical lines are visible

Hi Thilo....

Great perspective... The diagonal lines combine excellent with the vertical lines of the the arches... Very sharp image... excellent contrast and tones... Love how the picture itself brings one from the top to the botton of the building... Love your work here!!!!

Cheers,

MaLuisa

Hi Thilo ... the diagonal world is definitely more interesting than the round! The bird?s perspective works well here (showing how small the birds on the ground are ... LOL), emphasizing the size of this building. Great pattern & tones!

This is a fine composition - most would try to take this view head on and create a static image - your angle and composition create a real treat for my tired eyes -- love it - K
