Thank you Karen.. your thoughts and ideas means alot to me! =) Yes.. ive thought of that many times as well.. this time though Martin, the model, wasnt aware that i took a photo.. he was deep in his thoughts so i dont think he was smiling there. But often people do.. i guess thats what gives true emotions from people such a power in photos..

Thanks again!

cheers

Very nice composition and pose Patrick. But there is one thing that I noticed that often times even bothers me when I try to create this type of mood in my shots. I find that sometimes when making the expression of sadness on the face, that sometimes the mouth tends to appear as if you are actually smiling, it's not quite as strong in this one as I have seen in some of my own images, but it is certainly something to think about. As I look really close it doesn't appear that he is making a smile, but I think that maybe it is the angle of the lips and shadow that makes it appear this way. Well, I don't know if that makes any sense to you, but anyway I really do like the image, the lighting is perfect~

Thanks alot Magnus for your fine comment! The Tamron lens is really great for the money.. the motor is abit slow though and it draws out alot of battery power quite fast.

Cheers and thanks again,

Some of the best tones that I've seen on Usefilm..
It is a thoughtful look, with wonderful warmth and feeling. Really nice work, Patrick!

I?m very impressed with your portraits and the sharp but yet soft touch. Í've had my eyes on that tamron lens for quite some time. In your case it seems to have been?a good investment.

This would have to be one of best B/W portraits I have seen. So clear and soft. The frame sets it off perfectly.

Well done.
