This is beautiful. The light as ethereal sphere. Highness.

stefan,
this is masterfully composed: so difficult to make interesting and clever use of symmetry...and you perfectly managed to! i really like this equivalence between the backgound an the main subject (which is which?...:)). the sky is so powerful: it defines the images and adds a special mood.

Hi Dave - glad you like it... The sky was kind of special, but the air traffic into Reagan National in Washington gives you an airplane every other minute :-)

This is absolutely superb. Don't know what I like more -- the rays of light or the airplane. To have them both is astounding. Now *this* is all about seeing creatively.

Interesting and creative way to capture the scene. The light is very attractive.

Hi Stefan, looking at the thumbnail, this photo struck me as the odd one out in your portfolio. Perfectly centered, and rather boring at first sight. Boy, am I wrong! It's the plane that adds "the juice". Without it, the impressive skyscape would've been turned into oblivion. Very good cooperation with the various subjects. The only thing I find (only slighly) distracting is the crane in the lower right corner. I see no reason not to take it out.... (apart from it being there originally, ofcourse) I'll add this one to my favourites too, as I find it very unusual and (again) inspirational.

Cheers,

Hugo

That damn working crane in the background!!! It haunts some of my pictures from DC as well. Otherwise this is a brilliant picture. The silhoutte of the airplane passing the rays of sun poking out behind the ominous clouds...

certainly a masterpiece: the long aftermath of 9/11
attacking america's first & last democrat
...
which stance would jefferson have taken now in the iraq-war?
in a very doomsday mood, stefan
:)
