Thank you James...and yes that is the Gulf of Mexico...I have a very simple camera..and this photo is just as it came out of the camera. I have seen this color often when the sky becomes very threatening...it is amazing, almost like the sky when it gets that eerie yellow glow just before a bad storm....Gloria

gloria, quite a nice shot. i love clouds myself. is that the sea out there? it just doesn't look real. a wonderful photo....! keep working hard on your photography.

I loved the "Chasing the Clouds" series! Very creative!!!
But I think this is the best one!!!
Great shot!!! The colors of the stone, the see, the sky (and the clouds, of course ;) ) are very well combined.

Excellent shot, looks like a roll cloud at the bottom, did it sweep in with wind !! Lots of storm possiblities here ! Nice catch, where I live you seldom see such a thing. its awesome coming over the water.

This is a very interesting compostion with four separate "layers" - the rocks, the ocean and two distinct layers of the clouds. Unique. And it is very beautiful.

Oh, WHAT a PAYOFF!
Gloria, this has been a wonderful journey, and for an old weather buff like me, this is beauty incomperable!
This is a textbook cumulonimbus (CB) hitting the ceiling in the upper atmosphere and beginning to shear off. That shearing limits the growth (though this is already big). If it breaks through the cap, it usually explodes into a dangerous storm.
The silky line in front is the gust front, growing as the intense downdrafts spread out.
Again, my deepest thanks for another shot landing in my favorites folder! 7+
