No, Craig, tea ceremonies leave me cold except for the beautiful young ladies in kimono who sometimes attend them...

This one I do like, very nice indeed. The tree is placed perfectly, as is the path. The roof line just takes the eye through the rest of the photo. Love it.

Looks like my kind of place. I've often thought that if I ever get round to writing a book it's more like to be about 'tea-ology than theology!! Carole and I love dropping in on tea shops on our days out and are becoming real experts on tea-cakes, crumpets and the like!! Excellent shot as ever! Kind regards, Chris

Debra, you're asking the wrong person... names of trees and plants are a blind spot of mine. I know very few in English, and the Japanese ones I do know I haven't learned the English of! The lines are actually bandages placed around the tree by the tree doctor--I do know that. Don't know WHY though... perhaps to prevent it catching cold?

Nice shot, but a remarkably wrapped tree on the left. Someone left a large birthday present, presumably. Rob.

What kind of tree is that with all the lines in it...wow... I think I would fall in love with Japan..and I am not a traveler...

Interesting! Thanks for your description on the curved lines. I was wondering why the distortion was so minimal, then I saw the curved line....;o) Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,
Hugo
