About Right of the Mosque in "Duality in subjects I" is the Emam Khomeiny Mosque; a huge, and excessively decorated mosque. On the yard, however...... the Duality of the subject became apparent...:) My camera settings where completely off for the moment, and I had to quickly readjust them in order to capture this moment, but forgot that the previous shot was taken with +1.5 EV.... This explains the reduced quality, scanning issues not counting.

To Mary: Sorry, no rainbow..:)

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Kurt, Thanks for your elaborate description; I really appreciate it... It's weird how on times like this (when I took the shot) one notices different thing looking through the viewfinder than without a camera. I'm almost convinced I would've remembered this mosque completely different without a camera...

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo. To me there is a certain timelessness about this image; it could have been like this a hundred years ago and it may be like this a hundred years from now. The birds are doing what birds have always done, oblivious to the intervention of man. The child in red really anchors this photo - walking into the frame with lots of space to look into, maybe enjoying the commotion of the birds. I am intrigued by the two bright doorways contrasting with the two darkend ones. This seems to imply a choice of directions, perhaps for the child, for the birds, for the viewer... Well done, my friend, and congratulations on having three of your photos on the front page at the same time! Best wishes, Kurt

hi Hugo, this is such a beautiful capture and of course you know I love birds so that makes it even much better for me! { I went back to Maryland yesterday, and on my way home i drove by the great wetlands as I did last week, the white swans were there once again. they must nest there, and of course all wildlife in the great wetlands is protected, of course as is all waterfowl in the Chesapeake Bay watershed! the Chesapeake Bay is such a marvelous place, I wish you could see it someday and take some of your beautiful pictures there}.... yours is beautiful picture my friend....jon

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 2/26/2004
The pigeon motion juxtaposed with the red clad figure is interesting and keeps the image from being just an architectural rendering.

Yes, I agree with your comments on "Jump", in fact I have made a b+w with harder contrasts and that worked probably better than the color version.

Thamer Al-Tassan Thamer Al-Tassan   {K:1358} 2/26/2004
Beautiful shot. I love how you captured the kid approaching the pigeons and making them "take off". The details and lighting are great, nothing wrong with them.

Do you have any shots of this place from "interesting" angles? I'd love to see them!

Well done...

nature vs art...

works for me at least...good moment - great playfulness...wish the background were sharper to contrast more vividly with the birds' movement...

Verassend!
Groeten, Lex
